When law enforcement lists seized assets, you usually expect a column of sedans and pickup trucks. What Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced last week was different. The investigation targeting the "5th & Cornwall" drug trafficking organization in North Philadelphia turned up a garage full of cars that would stop you cold at any car show.
Twenty-plus vehicles, allegedly purchased with drug trafficking proceeds, were seized from a property on North 3rd Street in Philadelphia. Three additional suspects were arrested in connection with cocaine and crack seizures linked to the same network. The case goes back to charges filed in September 2025, but the vehicle seizure โ and its inventory โ is something else entirely.
What They Found
๐ The Seized Inventory
- 1988 Ferrari Testarossa โ twin-turbocharged. Not stock. Someone went fast in this.
- Multiple Mazda RX-7s โ a plural. As in, more than one. As in, whoever was building this collection had taste.
- Acura NSX โ the original mid-engine Japanese supercar. A collector staple.
- 2017 Shelby Cobra Backdraft Roadster โ a hand-built Cobra replica with serious horsepower on tap.
- Red Porsche 911 โ unspecified year, but come on. A 911.
- Yellow Austin-Healey Sprite โ a curveball. Points for eccentricity.
- 2004 Beck Porsche Speedster replica โ another hand-built special. The Beck Speedsters are highly regarded builds.
- LS-powered turbocharged tow truck โ turbos sticking out of the fenders, described by PA prosecutors as "similar to what appears in the Fast & Furious." This is real.
- JDM Mitsubishi Legnum wagon โ a Japanese-spec wagon that never officially came to America. Someone imported this specifically.
The Pennsylvania AG intends to pursue forfeiture proceedings โ meaning the state will attempt to prove the vehicles were bought with criminal proceeds. For now, they sit in evidence. The case has resulted in charges against 32 people so far, with investigation ongoing.
The Testarossa in the Room
The crown jewel is obviously the 1988 Ferrari Testarossa โ but the twin-turbo part is what makes it genuinely special. The factory car made 390 horsepower from a flat-12. The aftermarket turbo setup on these has historically pushed that number significantly higher. Someone built a real car here, not just bought a showroom piece.
The Testarossa was already a cultural touchstone before this story โ Miami Vice, Magnum, P.I., every '80s dream garage. But twin-turboed, it becomes a genuinely fast machine. The Acura NSX alongside it is equally telling โ whoever was selecting these cars knew what they were doing mechanically.
The RX-7s Are the Detail That Gets You
It's not one RX-7. It's multiple. The Mazda RX-7 โ particularly the FD-generation third-gen with its twin-rotor 13B-REW โ is a serious car with a serious following. They're not easy to own, not easy to keep on the road, and not cheap to modify properly. Someone in that organization knew the car scene on a real level.
The LS turbo tow truck is the wildcard that breaks the internet. Turbos through the fenders. Fast & Furious-spec, per the prosecutors themselves. That's a sentence that exists in a real legal document.
